Mrs. Robinson’s Classroom Procedures
Make-up Work:
According to school policy, students may have the number of days
absent to complete any make-up work they receive once they return.
That policy will be adhered to in my classroom.
It is the responsibility of the STUDENT to collect the work they have
missed due to an excused absence and have it returned in the appropriate amount
of days. USE GOOGLE CLASSROOM TO be proactive and collect all work before returning!

Redo Policy:
Guiding Principles of Teacher Re‐do Option:
1)
Any and all re‐do work is to be done only at the discretion of the teacher. Re‐do of any work or assessment is not to be taken for granted by students or parents
and is not an assumed right for any assessments.
2)
The type of re‐do assessment will be at the discretion of the teacher and may not necessarily be in the same format as the original assessment. (e.g. It may be an oral test, written, performance oriented, etc. and may be in a different format than the original assessment).
3)
The re‐do process will not be an easy task for the student. It must require extra effort and time on the part of the student in reviewing and preparing for the re‐do.
In addition, it should also contain some form of guided and
structured re-teaching and review by the teacher of material previously
presented. Specific “pre” re‐do
requirements will be defined for the student.
4)
A teacher will base the decision of offering a re‐do
opportunity to a student based on teacher observations made during the learning
process and an overall monitoring of the students effort to learn the material
presented. If a willingness to learn and a sincere effort to improve is
observed, then consideration of a re‐do
may be appropriate for a student.
5)
As a general rule, no more than 2‐3 re‐do
opportunities per student will be allowed in a single grading period. .
6)
Under most circumstances, no re‐do
assessments should be allowed during the final week of the grading period.
7)
Prior to agreeing to a re‐do
option, the teacher/grade level/department should define the weight the re‐do
will have on the overall grade. Normal protocol is that the re‐do
will take the place of the original grade if it results in an improved grade.
This is to be made clear to the student prior to the re‐do.
8)
Before retaking, a student must get a parent signature, make
all corrections and submit them to Mrs. Robinson before a retake will be scheduled. Students may retake in
homeroom or come in before school or after school if arrangements have been made
ahead of time.
** In order to re-do an assessment, a student must score lower
than an 80%. Additionally, a student may never score any higher than an 80% on a re-do.
In addition to this policy, a student will never score less than a 50% on
an assessment – this should ensure that a student will never find themselves in a position that they can never improve their grade!!
